Beamer is affectionate, fun, and loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He met the cats, and after one swipe of a feline paw Beamer has learned that they do not wish to play with him, and he now cautiously keeps his distance. Beamer loves going for walks and enjoys playing ball outdoors. He would be a perfect family pet, as he is great with adults and children of all sizes. He is completely housebroken and not destructive when left alone in the house. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. Dexter is a 1 year-old and 20 pound purebred Beagle that is looking for a new home. He was turned in to a shelter by his family who felt that he did not fit in. He spent some time at a shelter and now is in foster care. Because he has moved around quite a bit, love and reassurance is a must. This very young dog loves to play and can easily get excited. When over-stimulated he can demand attention and has been known to chew paper. His behaviors are typical of a dog that has not been given proper obedience training.We recommend obedience classes for all dogs which also help pup and owner bond. Dexter is a happy little tail-wagger! He is sociable, brave and intelligent.

Bud is a 3 year old Beagle who was dumped in a local pound when his family decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of owning a dog. He was frightened to death there and it was obvious he needed to get into a foster situation. He is a little chow hound so you will need to watch his food intake to keep him from packing on the pounds. And while he is OK with the other dogs in his foster home, I think it would be best to have him as an only pet. He can be bossy and doesn't like to share his food or human with the others. He is a shadow - he follows me even to the bathroom and he doesn't like to stay outside unless I am out there with him. He will need a quiet house - only one or two people
